2.1.09

It has kinda been a trend in my family to travel during christmas. thats the only time my parents can get a few days leave during the school holidays. it doesnt really matter if it is overseas, or in malaysia. one year it was europe, another was labuan. this year, it was penang.

We went to most of the tourist sites. ate most of the things penang is famous for... and more (now is really a good time for me to start dieting/kickstart ganti my puasa). it was really nice spending quality time together.

Finally, i went to Bukit Bendera. apparently everyone has been many many times before, and doesnt want to go anymore (ok, except maybe for sorang dua who wanted to go but never had the time).

No... we didnt hike up (altho, i plan to one day. i want to train for my big 'panjat Gg. Kinabalu aktion'. its getting irritating when i introduce myself, saying i'm from kk, and the first thing people ask is if i have already panjated Kinabalu.)

Where was i? ......

OK

so we took the funicular thingy or whatever it's called. RM 4 permanusia return. That is damn cheap! On the bukit itself, there were no maps or handouts of where we could go and what to see. oklah, there is a big map stuck to the ground, but i would have preferred to have one in hand, and not always backtrack to the big map to see if we were going in the right direction.

I wonder who takes care of the bukit bendera. is it kerajaan penang? i think they would benefit greatly if they revised the prices. i wonder if hiking up, must pay or not... because, if they said that RM 4 for a return ticket is enough to maintain those trains, that is not right. everyone who goes up brings a little rubbish. even the hikers. then maybe print out some handouts, so that people know the history of the bukit bendera, and a map and things to do... hiking trails or whatever.

even Kinabalu is revising their prices. i know some parties are not happy with that decision, but i agree completely with the decision. even though if it means i have to save up more to complete 'panjat Gg Kinabalu aktion'. Did i mention that this is something i wish to do before the year ends? does that mean this 'aktion' is a new years resolution?

Whatever..

So, Anyone up to joining me? Jom lah.. Jom lah...

Happy 2009, may it bring success and hapiness!
